UN-INSTRAW is pleased to announce the launching of a three-week virtual dialogue to strengthen the analysis and replication of good practices in the area of gender and disarmament, demobilization & reintegration (DDR).
The dialogue, which will start on June 28, will foster the dynamic exchange of experiences and information between academics, government representatives, United Nations, INGO and civil society staff with expertise, working experience, or a general interestin the subject.
The overarching aim of the dialogue will be to identify the specific needs of women and girls in reintegration processes and effective measures to address these needs. While the dialogue will focus on reintegration within DDR specifically, participants are encouraged to address demobilization and disarmament as applicable.
Discussion will be divided into three thematic weeks: specific needs analysis of women and girls in reintegration; good practices and lessons learned in gender and reintegration; and measuring impacts & recommendations. It will be held in English on the UN-INSTRAW Virtual Dialogue Forum and participants may register at the following link: http://www.un-instraw.org/forum/ucp.php?mode=register
