Resolution Watch Update

In November 2011, three resolutions were passed: Resolution 2019 on Bosnia and Herzegovina, Resolution 2020 on Somalia, and Resolution 2021 on the DRC. Only one of these resolutions contained relevant Peace, Women, and Security (WPS) references.

Resolution 2021 on the DRC contained 4 references to WPS with a general focus on Sexual and Gender-based Violence and protection of human rights.

For December 2011, we anticipate that resolutions will be adopted on Somalia, Liberia, South Sudan, the Middle East (Golan Heigths), Guinea Bissau, and Burundi.
