Women, Peace and Security: The Role of Women in Peacebuilding and Peacekeeping

Armed conflicts have a major impact on the lives of women and their families. But women also have important skills that could be used more effectively in conflict resolution and peacebuilding. How can the role of women in peace negotiations, reconciliation and peacekeeping be strengthened? These issues will be addressed in the training course on the implementation of UNSC Resolutions 1325 and 1820.

Key features of the training:

Lectures and workshops by academics, policy makers and women from NGO's in the field
Training on communication and negotiation skills
Visits to the ICC and Peace Palace
Screening of the film, Weapon of War

To register for the course, please send an email to grotiuscentre@campusdenhaag.nl. The registration fee is €275 for professionals and €125 for students, including a welcome dinner, lunches, a guided tour at the Peace Palace and a drinks reception.

The training is organised by the Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies in cooperation with Oxfam Novib and Clingendael, with the support of the municipality of The Hague.
