The UN Peacebuilding Support Office (PBSO) commissioned this Independent Thematic Review on Gender to contribute to knowledge building and operational learning about peacebuilding practices. This Review aims to add to the knowledge development and learning of three earlier thematic studies by PBSO on the following themes: Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration (November 2011), Security Sector Reform (2012) and Peace Dividends (2012).
